My 4th of July weekend was one I will never forget. My handsome boyfriend and I debated on many things to do for the weekend. We decided to go down town for some lunch at Mimosas. That was the first place we ate down town when we moved here two months ago. It was excellent. I had salmon with mint sauce for lunch and Adam had a chicken sandwich. When we were done licking our plates we headed to the park but it was still four O'clock and wanted to kill time so we walked around and looked at the booths and bought some Baseball tickets from a man selling them right outside the stadium. We wanted to go to the game but the tickers were so expensive online. We landed some tickets for 80 right in front of the home plate. It was my first real game EVER. Adam has been to many games in his life time so he knew how to make it so much fun! We had to have peanuts and cracker jacks of coarse. The best part was chanting out the songs they played and the whole crowd doing the WAVVVEEE! They had a kiss cam and everything. Which is what I always thought of when I thought of going to the game. Unfortunately I didn't get to show the crowd my love for Adam but there were some adorable parents giving their babies xoxo's. There's always next time. ;) The stadium was packed and The USA Team played Cuba. They were the best of the best hand picked from the best colleges. Boy, did those boys show 'em who's boss! We kicked but and chanted USA all the way to the end. It was a game to remember, It didn't even stop there! We had the best seats in the house for the best fire works show on the East Coast! They light up the sky with so many colors and noise. The most romantic 4th I've had with mi Amor right there. The Fire works Reflected off of charlottes new skyscrapers, Everyone came out of their luxury apartments to watch the fireworks on their balconys. I don't know who had a better view!!! About thirty minutes into the show, Adam wanted to leave before they got over to avoid the crowd! What I wonderful idea I thought. We pushed our way out of the stadium and into the crowd in the community park, Apparently we weren't the only ones with that idea. When we got to our car The crowd was being herded right past the opening of the garage and there were a line of cars boxing us in waiting their turn to leave. It looked like in the Lion King when Simba was trying to escape the heard of animals. I suggested instead of waiting for two hours for the crowd to clear we walk to the epicenter a few blocks and have some wings. As we did!! By the time we had  BBQ in our bellies our car was indeed ready to rumble. We had a safe drive back to our apartment, with the best fourth of July. Sigh, I guess its time we go back to work. When's the next holiday? :)

A Memorial day to Remember!

Hey Ya'll! I thought I would tell you about a little adventure me and Adam had the other day. Its definitely a day worth writing about! We decided to fill our memorial day with a little hard work since our soldiers did so much work! But we had it a little easier at the end.

Adam and I drove to Lake Lure, Which I didn't know at the time but they filmed one of my favorite movies there. Dirty Dancing. Who doesn't wanna walk where Patrick Swayze walked!! lol

The drive to Lake lure was about and hour and a half away. I ate our entire pack of trail mix on the way.... opppps.

 

 

     We saw a snake on the side of the road when we were pulling into town we stopped and got out of the car to capture a picture of the "little" guy. Sorry mom..

They had a cute festival going on down there and the Lake was packed! There was giant slides going into the lake and tons of families. The festival had a Buttered corn stand and a Kettle corn stand. I had to get some corn, and some more sugared corn to go with it of coarse. Since we were going to be defeating the dreaded chimney rock hike shortly. The calories were put to good work, believe me! We walked around for a while and made our way to the start of the trail. Normally They have people take a bus up to the top or the middle and hike down from there or go further. Adam thinks he is a mountain man, a man that can defeat any mountain in front of him. HE proved he definitely can! Fortunately all that elliptical exercise paid off that day. We ended up hiking 26 floors worth of stairs up the chimney Rock national Rock. The hike was crowded with tourists but the weather was absolutely amazing. 70 degrees and sunny. We conquered those stairs and left everyone in the dust! Man, my calves sure felt the after math at work today! When we finally made it to the top I was pooped, we had to sit down and enjoy our view for a good twenty minutes.

                                       This is our view from the treacherous hike, so worth it.

I could say that we were pretty proud. We needed a perfect way to end the day so we googled some of the best restaurant s near lake Lure and found one on the lake. They seated us right by the water and watched as people fished in their pontoons. There were not very many boats on the water. We learned from one of the Locals we met that is costs up to 500 dollars a year to keep your boat on the lake. That's why you don't see very many boats our there. not many can afford that! They had everything on the menu pretty fresh and close to home including the catch of the day that comes from their lake. I ordered the Salmon on some risotto and a cream sauce with a side of snap peas. Adam ordered a variety of pork with fall off the bone ribs. They were amazing. They also had a huge  Bucket of a mix drink that was supposed to be made for two people. They brought it out and I tried some but it was watermelon sour and way to sweet for me. It was all up to Adam to finish the bucket. Lets just say I had to drive home. I spent the drive home laughing my but off, listening to Adam sing to me in the car an change the lyrics into something hilarious. We always have fun on our adventures and it was a day to remember.

Charlotte food adventures

Hi, I'm very new to this whole blog thing, but I just moved out of my home town to an enormous city. (compared to St.George) So, I don't have any friends yet. What better way to invest my free time then writing about my exciting new life?! Since I've moved to Charlotte there is one thing that has been made very clear. I've been missing out some dang good southern food Yawl. Yes, I've gained a couple pounds. Okay a few. but how can I not! There is amazing food everywhere!! Including a little place called, "The Flavors of the Earth" A cute sheik upper-class casual restaurant that serves French European style cuisine. Me and Adam, My boyfriend, Which is the whole reason I am here.(ill get to that part later.) Sat down for lunch after an awesome day walking around downtown Charlotte. In the need of some amazing food. This place brought it all the way! I had a kale salad, With cranberries, Deep fried truffle sweet potatoes, drenched in a  sweet shallot vinaigrette dressing. My mouth is watering as I type this. Adam had an open face chicken salad sandwich on a pecan rye bread with an over easy egg on top ready to be drenching his sandwich. He said it was wonderful. Which brings me to say that On top of the amazing lunch I landed a job as a server there. I start on Friday and I couldn't be more excited. The manager, Adam is extremely cool. Yes now i have two Adams in my life. haha So lets see, The amazing apartment, Amazing boyfriend, amazing job. I am as happy as a clam. Speaking of clams, Me and Adam went to a place called Crawfish. I have never  had crawfish. I pictured crab legs. They brought out these disgusting little creatures that looked like they were alive two minutes ago. I started to cry and ran to the bathroom. Adam and our server got a pretty good laugh. I can eat crab legs though. Hmmmm....
